Before commencing the treatment process, the ‘Introduction and initial assessment’ is crucial for the healthy progression of subsequent stages. This allows our patient to get to know us and form a preliminary idea about who they will entrust themselves to, obtain information about their treatment, alleviate their concerns about surgery to some extent, and, more importantly, enables us to gather important preliminary information about how we can assist our patient and plan for the more detailed preparations and treatment that will follow.
During this process, we develop a comprehensive and patient-specific treatment plan for our patient. Based on the patient's condition and symptoms, a decision is made as to which treatment (surgical or non-surgical) is the appropriate option. Prior to the operation, the treatment options, risks and benefits of surgery are discussed in detail with the patient. The patient makes an informed decision about the surgery, and the preparation process for the operation is initiated. Subsequently, preoperative preparatory tests are planned and performed.
On the day of the operation, the patient follows the pre-operative instructions and is admitted to the hospital. Prof. Dr. Taner Yiğit and the surgical team perform the operation as planned. It is crucial to support a successful operation with meticulous post-operative care. Therefore, the team works diligently to ensure the patient receives the best possible post-operative care.
After surgery, the patient is taken to their bed on the ward and the recovery process begins. Depending on the nature of your surgery, you will stay in hospital for 1-3 days after surgery. On the day of discharge, you will receive detailed information and documentation covering the medication you will use, dietary and exercise recommendations, and your follow-up appointments, after which you will be discharged from hospital.
